Willoughby's Coffee & Tea
is a coffee roasting company with one
seemingly simple goal: to produce the finest, freshest, most skillfully
roasted coffee beans available anywhere - Serious Coffee.
Like many "simple" ambitions, ours requires an ongoing
dedication to quality, standards and knowledge. We hope our coffees
and teas reflect our commitment. What sets us apart?
Experienced roasters of specialty
coffee, unparalled coffee bean selection process, emphasis on freshness.

Try our Serious Select limited edition coffees. This program offers exceptional and scarce coffees. Each week we offer prestigious coffees, each unique and in very limited supply. These coffees roast and ship same day, once per week. While these are typically more expensive coffees, they are also hard to find. Several recent coffee selections have sold out.
Kenya AA Kangunu microlot
and
Panama Don Pachi Washed Geisha
Both scarce with very limited availability. The Kangunu is a juicy example of a top Kenya coffee. The Panama Don Pachi Geisha was produced in such a small quantity as to be rare. A dry process version of this same coffee took first place last year in competition and sold at auction for more tha $100 pound. Read more...

Coffee suggestions:
--Costa Rica Leo Rojas microlot - Grown on a steep plot of land, high in Costa Rica's West Valley, this farm produces sweet Caturra varietal which is then processed at one of the premier micromills in the country, Helsar de Zarcero, just a short distance from the farm. This coffee has been stored in Grainpro bags since arrival to keep flavor at its peak until we roast it.
--Panama La Milagrosa Hector Vargas - Another favorite at Willoughby's and it is also a direct trade coffee. Our friend Hector Vargas seems to produce better coffee each year. This grower, almost unknown a half dozen years ago, provides solid coffees each year that find their way into the top ten of coffee competitions. We have had Hector's coffee each of the past several years. It arrives in Grainpro bags so it remains vibrant until we roast.
--India A Elkhill Estate - We have been trying to acquire India Elkhill for the past few years and finally have it back again, after persistent attempts with the Estate; all has gone to Europe in recent years. In 2007 Coffee Review gave us 95 points, one of the highest reviews at that time. This coffee had developed a large following among our customers and glad to say we have it once again for your enjoyment.

- Guatemala Antigua Finca La Tacita. Genuine Antigua. A direct trade relationship. The Fallas are a highly regarded coffee growing family with some of the prize holdings in Antigua. This Bourbon varietal is sweet, bright and delicious. We have offered La Tacita in the past and we are pleased to have it back again.
- Ethiopia Yrgacheffe Kochere. Kochere is a tiny area within Yrgacheffe with a washing station where small, local farmers bring their coffee harvest for processing. This is a carefully run washing station, highly selective about quality. The coffee is bright, sweet, very clean and citrusy. Chocolate body. Crisp and aromatic.
- Fair Trade and Organic from Peru. Clean, clear, crisp. The cooperative members have helped transform their growing practices, now using organic and sustainable practices to earn more for their coffee.

| Arianna Farms Ono Kona Coffee two time winner of the Kona Coffee Festival's Coffee Crown Competition, including 2011. Very small production. No doubt Kona is expensive - $32.99 a pound - but you can be assured of it being 100% the real thing. |

Recent travel - Arpil, 2011 - We were in Boquete, Panama for the annual Best of Panama competition. We serve as jurors in the competition along with a group of other coffee specialists from around the world. In all, about 15 jurors were in attendance from the US, Costa Rica, Japan, Norway and Taiwan. There was a terrific group of coffees represented, from traditional washed Caturras to experimental dry processed Geishas. The top four coffees were all Geisha varietals, with first place from Finca La Valentina followed closely by extroadinary Hacienda Esmeralda. The top non-Geisha or traditional type from the region, was Kotowa's Don K. Happily for our customers, we will have all three of these coffees in the very near future but be forwarned, some of them will be very expensive. |
